About Us— Who We Are

Broward County Senior Living was created by an interdisciplinary team of Clinicial social workers, licensed nurses, and other health care professionals who have been priviledged to serve older adults in their assisted living and free standing homes in Broward county for over 10 years.

Throughout our experience, we have recognized the growing need for seniors, family members, and care professionals to match individuals with the ideal living environment. The need for senior housing and community options is a complex decision, which requires extensive diligence and care.

Members of our team, recognize the need to make proper arrangements for senior living. For older adults, choosing the right place to live, and securing the right level of care, is the one of the most basic needs which usually go unaddressed.

Is Assisted Living The Best Option?

While some people are planners, and plan ahead about growing older, most tend to wait until daily activities and home maintenance has become overwhelming for them and their loved ones. Assisted living offers supportive services while still allowing a person to maintain independence, and enjoy private or semi-private accomodations with a level of privacy to which they are accustomed. Even individuals who aren’t outgoing and social can benefit from an assisted living community. Many activities occur that donit require people to be highly participatory, such as picking up the mail or chatting with someone in the dining room. This could be enough social interaction to help stimulate a personis interest in keeping in touch with the rest of the world. Assisted living offer planned activities and special events to encourage a sense of community among residents, loved ones, and community staff.

When is Assisted Living is likely a good option?

If the individual does not eat properly, drink enough water, get exercise, or is limited in social contacts, is lonely, is no longer able to maintain a home, grocery shopping, or drive, needs assistance with day-to-day tasks, and daily responsibilities. Assisted Living offers the comforts of home and the peace of mind that comes with knowing help is always available. Residents often enjoy gathering with friends and family for social activities. They experience nutritious meals approved by a registered dietician.

Does Moving into an Assisted Living Community Mean the Loss of Independence?

Rather, it provides residents opportunities to socialize and spend more time doing things they enjoy, in a safe environment where their needs can be met. There's no worring about daily chores, housekeeping, yard work, and cooking meals. Assisted Living offers peace of mind by knowing help is always available, as are social activities, and nutritious meals by a registered dietician.
